Blue Chameleon - Anxiety's No Joke

In the past few weeks, it became apparent I wasn’t coping very well with my emotions.  I noticed my anxiety was sky high. I was very down and didn’t want to do anything.  I shook it off as post marathon blues and boredom.  Thinking that in the weeks leading up to the marathon I was focused on training, nutrition and fundraising, being busy everywhere and was really enjoying it!  Then the highs of finishing, getting the medal, and basking in the satisfying glow of achievement ate up a few days following. But it wasn’t long before the world went back...

Blue Chameleon - Just Be Fierce

Social Media is great for cementing memories in place to look back on.  Gone are the days of photo albums with the sticky pages and cellophane covers that sat on the shelf.  Now, thanks to Facebook and it’s “on the day” feature we get a lovely mix of memories from as far back as our very first post.  I like this because it reminds me of what I was feeling when I posted a picture allowing me to relive them.  This week was a special memory as it marked two years since I completed my biggest challenge to date, 100k...

Blue Chameleon - Best Not To Go There

It doesn’t take much convincing that the world is pretty crazy these days.  Politics and Religion are the front runners for most debated followed closely by climate change and the weather.  Especially if you’re in England where the weather is directly responsible for everything wrong! I do my best to keep away from politics and religion mainly because I’m not a fan of confrontation I can control. My opinions are formed based on my own thoughts rather than finding something in a meme on Facebook.  However, I find that when you question someone about something they believe in, not in...

Blue Chameleon - Hey You

Inspiration hit me like a ton of bricks this week during a much overdue chat abroad.  Our conversation started out as it usually does but finished with three pages of notes scribbled on paper.  I was given an insight to the recovering mind while having a casual chat and upon asking if I could tell her story I was left feeling fire in my tummy.  Kyle humbly stated, “I’m not special” before opening up about conquering her addiction eight months ago.  Stating it’s hard for her to not be cynical about rehabilitation programs when this was her second time around...

Blue Chameleon - Back Seat Manners

One question I’ve been asking a lot recently is, “When did it become acceptable to vocalize judgement?” Why is this ok? At what point did manners take a back seat and it become socially acceptable to say what we think of people?  I have come across this in previous years during the height of my teens; most teens will have felt that someone was talking about them at one point.  But I thought that in my adult years and during motherhood, I would no longer be subjected to this form of bullying.  How wrong I am! It doesn’t take much...
